UX tabs

The seating designer has six tabs:

Tables - a list of the tables you have defined.
Guests - the guest list you have imported from a spreadsheet. You can filter the list for all, guests to be seated or guest with a set.
Layout - a layout of the tables (venue) you have defined. You can add all kinds of graphic elements to the layout to point out things like emergency exits at the venue. Guests can rearranged by drag and drop, within a table or between tables.
Printable tables - a for print version of the seating chart, shows a web page table by table You can exclude/include an image of the table layout.
Printable seating list - a web page, for print or online version of the seating chart, searchable and sortable.
Issues - list of potential issues with your seating chart, e.g. VIPs seated at non-VIP tables.

Tables

Four different table styles are supported:

Round
Square
Rectangular, with end seats
Rectangular, without end seats

You can assign seats either in the Tables list or in the Layout tab.

The ""unassigned guests" sidebar lists all guests that remains to be seated, you can drag a guest from there onto the desired seat in the Layout tab.

Guest and table types

Guests can be assigned a type:

Standard
VIP
Host/hostess
Young child
Teen
Young adult
Single

Tables can be assigned a type:

Standard
VIP
Singles
Kids

With the help of these types the app can help you seat:

All VIPs at a VIP table
All singles at a singles table
All kids at a kids table
One host per table

These types enables to app to for example warn if:

a VIP is not sitting at a VIP table
a kid is not sitting at a kids table
a single is not sitting at a singles table
a table does not have a host or hostess

Auto (batch) assign seats

You can auto-assign some or all seats using the options in the Batch Assign UX:

Seat one host at each table
Seat all VIPs at VIP tables
Seat all singles at the singles table(s)
Seat young children at the kids table(s)
Seat teens at the kids table(s)
Seat young adults at the kids table(s)
Randomly assign seats for the rest of the guests

Output / export

You can export your seating charts in four ways:

Web page with a searchable web table with one row per guest and the assigned table
SVG drawing of graphical rep of the tables
PNG image of graphical rep of the tables
Web page with one page per table (with or without a table graphic)

Two clicks to copy the generated seating chart into your Google Sites page or Wordpress site.

Personal cloud folder

This app supports cloud storage included with your subscription. The File drop-down menu has an option to save documents to your personal cloud storage folder, a.k.a your Bjorn's Cloud folder, and of course, you can open a document from the cloud with another option in the same menu.

The cloud storage folder is enabled when you are signed in and have a valid subscription.
